Compunics started as a small start up company in the year 1989.

The initial partnership company was started by Gaurang Damania and Anish Shah, both having an Electronic Engineering background from V.J.T.I Mumbai and a Management Degree from Sydenham Institute of Management Studies Mumbai.

Compunics Information Systems Limited went public through private placement in the 1994.

Compunics was amongst the first six dealers in Mumbai to offer peripherals from Panasonic and Hewlett Packard in the year 1993.

Compunics was amongst the first batch of Genuine Intel Dealer (GID), when Intel started the GID program in India in the year 1994.

Compunics is the first successful technology retail company in India. Compunics ventured into retail business much before personal computers were sold to home segment in India in the year 1994.

Compunics started the first customer service franchise in Mumbai for “Orange” (now known as Hutch) in the year 1995.

Apple Imacs were first launched in India by Mr. J. Graham Long, President, Apple Computer South Asia from the Compunics Showroom in the year 1995.

Compunics successfully ran a chain of 10 retail outlet for technology products in Mumbai from the year 1998 to 2002. This was the largest chain of technology retail in India.

Compunics started it exclusive retail outlet for Hewlett Packard and Nokia in the year 2002 at Fort in Mumbai.

Compunics started as a Nokia Care for providing support to warranty and non warranty Nokia Handset customers.

Compunics was awarded by Hewlett Packard as the Top retailer for the country for four consecutive years (1999 to 2002).

Compunics won the award for the Best IPG retailer – West in the year 2003. This award was presented by Mr. Vyomesh Joshi, executive Vice President of IPG Hewlett Packard worldwide.

The Directors of Compunics were selected by Hewlett to participate in their worldwide “Retail Advisory Council meet” held at Vienna, Austria in the year 2003.

The Directors of Compunics are active members in HP’s Retail Advisory council meet.

Compunics received a certificate of appreciation for being the “Best Showroom” from IBM in the year 2002.

Awarded a certificate of honor from Mr. Shailendra Gupta, Director Ingram Micro – Asia Pacific in the year 1999.

Compunics received a Certificate of Excellence from Intel, for an outstanding performance in the year 2000.
